Recessing the C-Frame
Posted by: | CommentsFinally built the cutout in the workbench to recess the skin dimpling frame. It worked out very well. the dimple die sticks up about 1/2″ from the surface of the table, so it is very easy to simply slide the skins across the table and it stays put without extra hands.

right elevator de construction and prep
Posted by: | CommentsDisassembled the right elevator and reamed all of the drilled holes in all parts. Dimpled skins, ribs, and spars. Countersunk the holes in the rear spar and in the trailing edge piece. Also put an extra hole in the skin for the counterbalance !@#$%, I slipped with the squeezer when dimpling. I drilled out the hole and reamed it, so it should be ok…maybe I’ll squeeze an extra rivet in there or something to cover up the hole.
